A completely new influence arrived with the Arabs; the Mallorcans expanded their repertoire with glazes and rich decorations.

The highlight of the pottery calendar occurs in early March when the Marratxì pottery fair takes place. In addition to an exhibition on the history of ceramics, there are mainly stalls. The classic Greixoneras are particularly popular. This mix between a pot and a pan is necessary for the preparation of many traditional dishes. Of course, there are also plant pots, amphorae, and Arabic alfabis, amphorae with smooth bottoms and no handles. The Siruell, small clay pipes shaped like humans, are popular among children. These were also made by the Catalan artist Joan Miró.
